Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account: first and last name, email, username, city/state, birth year, profile photo. Last name is never shown to other users.
• Bills: bill photos, biller, amount, description. Bill photos are visible only to you and BillGoat; the feed shows a "Verified" badge, not the document.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We store transaction amounts and Stripe identifiers, never card numbers.
• Identity verification: performed by Stripe Identity. We store only the result (verified / not), not your ID document.
• Messages: stored so both people can read them; scanned automatically for abuse.
• Device: push token (if you allow notifications), app version, crash logs. No precise location.

How we use it

To run the service, prevent fraud, enforce the guidelines, send you notifications you asked for, and comply with law. We don't sell personal data and we don't run third-party ad tracking.

Who sees what

Other users see your first name, username, city/state (you can hide it), age, profile photo, bills, and public giving stats. Payers you've accepted money from can message you. Stripe sees payment and identity data under their own privacy policy. Livestreams are public.

Your choices

• Hide your location, block anyone, delete any bill, and delete your account (Settings). Deletion removes your profile and bills; payment records are kept as required by law.
• Turn off notifications any time in iOS settings.
• Email support@billgoat.com to access or export your data.

Children

BillGoat is for adults 18+. We delete accounts we find belong to minors.

Changes

We'll post updates here and note the date above. Material changes get an in-app notice.
